The breakfast is extensive, offered with spectacular views of Sorrento and also a very superior quality. The hotel has an excellent location on the ' Amalfi' coast.

Spacious and clean rooms. The pool area was very large and as a result the guests were well spread over the area so there was no overcrowding. It was just a short stroll to the main area of Corso Italia. The staff at the front desk were helpful in helping plan any day trips. The breakfast was very substantial and the views from the brekky area were amazing.
We were charged for Mini Bar items we did not take. The pool closed at 6pm, I think this is too early in a resort town. We wanted to order a snack at the pool bar and were told the kitchen did not open until 5pm, it was 5:20pm when we asked. A sign in the area noted the Pool snack bar was open until 7pm. The restaurants had strict dress codes and charged a $20euro per person cover charge.

Very dated vibe to the place and staff service was characterless

The Maniello family should count themselves very fortunate that they employ such excellent and friendly English-speaking staff- even the chamber-maids spoke better English than some of the doctors at the nearby hospital. What also stands this hotel in good stead is the wonderful gardens and well-operated swimming-pool complex with infinity pools commanding magical views towards Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Its location, just on the edge of the right side of town,is also excellent, and requires a ten minute stroll to be amidst the restaurants and shops of Sorrento. Unfortunately, for older and disabled customers there is no dedicated hotel shuttle service to town, the port or the railway/bus terminal which are a brisk 25 minute walk away.
It is difficult to pin-point exactly what is wrong with the Grand Hotel Capodimonte, but there is something amiss! As a fellow guest said to me "It's lost its Mojo!" Certainly in my opinion it is not a €220-plus a night hotel and certainly I would not recommend the hotel to friends or return there, which is a crying shame as, given the calibre of staff, the location and the pool complex, this could be a very good hotel indeed. My main complaint was with the kitchen. The lunch poolside menu was predictable, uninventive and too long. The food served for evening meal in the main restaurant was almost inedible, while the two beautiful poolside restaurants remained for some reason in a state of isolation, hardly used, and in a state of social segregation from the rest of the hotel (why the cover charge?). Noise after midnight was an almost incessant problem, mainly due to inconsiderate guests (why no policy of requesting guests to have consideration?). The room was clean but decor, in that typically Italian hotel baroque style, is dated. How disappointing!

This hotel is very well situated just 5 minute walk from Sorrento and main square. Its greatest asset is its friendly and welcoming staff. This is a 4 star hotel built on a hill side so is therefore on different levels. This means that there are breathtaking views from the pool area and restaurants. Even when full, because the 5 pools are tiered one never feels crowded. The level of cleanliness is excellent with clean towels and bedding most days. Our room was spacious with balcony overlooking pool and stunning views of the town and bay of Naples.
I felt the food was a disappointment. Other than breakfast which was very good, I felt that the hotel took unnecessary short cuts like using processed tomato sauce on its Bruchetta when Naples is well known for its fresh tomatoes!! Biggest surprise though was the awful coffee.....something I never thought I would experience in Italy!

Its location is unique & stunning, next to Pompei, Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast, lovely shops, and terraces in which are sun beds.

The double sea view room was a great size with a
Fine view over Sorrento bay. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we found the restaurant service during breakfast a bit slow. It was a beautiful place for our honeymoon stay!

The Grand Hotel Capodimonte provided a wonderful experience . The staff were attentive, assisting promptly with my business needs, including setting up my presentation equipment. The location offered amazing sea views, and the dining options were varied and delicious, with breakfast with freshly baked pastries and a range of organic juices.
Some common areas showed signs of wear.

The pool area is fine!
Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The room we received was nothing like the photos we had seen. It was cramped and in the attic with a low ceiling. I felt misled, especially since I was paying for a premium room. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. The coffee tasted instant and the juice reminded me of it was watered down. I had hoped for more personalized touches, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and there were no complimentary beverages in the room.

The view from our room was fine, and we loved spending time at the beautiful spa after exploring the local sights. The staff were super attentive. We also enjoyed the delicious food throughout our stay. Wish we could go back soon!
We did find that some of the common areas could have used a bit more maintenance.
